The Bishop Broncos Boys Varsity Basketball Team hosted a home last night against the Mammoth Huskies. Both teams came out battling battling back and forth in the first quarter. Broncos had the lead 18-11 at the end of the first. Second quarter was same as the first going basket for basket and the Broncos would have a 39-31 lead at the half. 3rd quarter is where the Broncos would open it up by playing tough defense and getting open shots as a result. They would out score Mammoth 22-10 in the 3rd quarter to open it up to a 61-41 lead. They would out score Mammoth again in the fourth quarter 14-13 and walk away with the win 75-54.
Leading the way in scoring was Chris Charley with 21 points, Wokoba Spoonhunter with 18, Richie Talavera and Emory Dondero both with 8, Ty Arcularius with 6, Aaron Astorga with 5, Gavin O’ Conor with 4, Elijah Reynolds with 3 and Noah Cathey and Brady Kalk both with 1 point. The win makes the Broncos 2-0 in league play with a home game Friday at 7:30 against the Rosamond Roadrunners. Hope to see everyone there to support your Broncos.
